Laura Taylor, Founder

Gaia was founded by Laura Taylor in order to help provide a communications champion for businesses that need to take their market messages to a new level. Laura has spent her career assisting organizations develop diverse and effective communications programs from venture-backed start-up strategies to national branding campaigns.

Previously, Laura has held executive and senior staff positions at leading and global agencies including Edelman and Omnicom’s Brodeur Partners. In these roles, she led ground-breaking national media programs across a variety of industries including wireless, B2G, clean technology and software to name a few.  Her teams have developed innovative programs garnering industry accolades, but more importantly they have produced significant return on investment (ROI) for clients.

In addition to agency work, Laura has deep experience in communications management — from the Fortune 500 at EDS, Nextel and Sprint, to some of the Mid-Atlantic’s best known venture-backed startups including USinternetworking and iBiquity Digital.

Laura Janes, Communications Strategist

Laura Janes is a communications specialist with over 14 years of experience spanning a leading business magazine, top ten global PR firm, and two global, publicly traded companies. She has broad experience working closely with executive leadership on strategy, campaign development and execution, conference and roadshow management, media relations, analyst relations, and sales and partner engagement.

Laura delivers effective programs including executive seminars, conferences, customer references and vertical and regional media relations. Most recently with Sun Microsystems, Laura collaborated with different business units and a network of key technology and channel partners to deliver effective awareness-building programs. She has deep experience collaborating across company divisions and with strategic partners to implement communications programs reaching technology and business/financial media, and supporting industry verticals outreach in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Sarah Martin, Account Executive

Sarah is an account executive at Gaia Group, where she supports and manages all aspects of client accounts.  Sarah currently develops media materials and conducts research on behalf of Gaia’s clients.

Prior to joining Gaia Group, Sarah was a strategy consultant for FTI Consulting, a leading global consulting firm.  As a member of the research team, Sarah designed and implemented marketing research initiatives for clients in corporate, public affairs and financial sectors.  She also performed corporation reputation research, brand positioning and public opinion polling for Fortune 500 and association clients.

Sarah has also held communications support positions at People for the American Way, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters and NARAL.  She is a graduate of Westminster College and currently resides in Maryland.
